Local rules in 2023

  • PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE (unless otherwise stated in the local rule):

INTERNAL OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18.2)

1. When playing hole 18 The New Course , a ball that stops on the fairway on hole 1 is out of bounds.

 

PLICY AREAS (Rule 17)

1. Game fences form the boundary of a red duty area or stand in one. The inner side of the fence posts facing the track defines the boundary. Duty areas marked with game fences are infinite. See further on Prohibited Betting Zones below.

2. the red duty areas on the following holes, which are only defined on one side, are infinite.

The Old Course: Hole 1 left side, hole 3 right side and holes 11, 13, 14, 15 left side.

The New Course: Holes 4, 5 right side and 10 left side.

Park course: Holes 3, 7, 8 right side.

 

SPECIAL OR COMPULSORY RELIEF PROCEDURES

a) Drop zones

1. If a ball is in the red duty area short of and to the right of the green on hole 8 The New Course or to the left on the hill or to the right on the lake side on hole 7 The Park Course or short of the green on hole 1 The Old Course, including when it is known or virtually certain to be in the duty area even if not found, the player has these relief options each with a kind of duty: Take relief under Rule 17.1 or as an additional option drop a ball in the drop zone. The drop zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3

b) Gambling prohibition zones

1. Areas within the red duty areas marked with game fences are no-play zones. The inner side of the fence posts facing the course defines the boundary. No-play zones marked with game fences are infinite.

When a ball is in the no-play zone inside the duty area or it interferes with the punch or swing, the ball may not be played as it lies and relief must be taken under Rule 17.1e.

If a ball is outside the red duty area and the no-play zone interferes with the punch or swing, the player must take relief under Rule 16.1f.

The tee on hole 12 The Old Course and the white tee on hole 9 The New Course do not belong to the duty area and the no-play zone.

c) Ball hits power line

1. If it is known or virtually certain that a player's ball has struck an elevated wire during play of The New Course holes 3, 5, The Old Course holes 2, 5, 13, Park Course hole 15 or the utility poles on The New Course holes 3, The Old Course holes 2, 5, the player must replay the shot by playing the original ball or another ball from the place where the last shot was struck (see Rule 14.6). If the player replays the shot, but does so from the wrong place, the player receives the general duty under Rule 14.7. If the player does not replay the shot, the player receives the general duty and the shot counts, but the player has not played from the wrong place.

 

Abnormal track conditions (Rule 16)

(a) Land under construction (MUA)

1. Areas in bunkers where sand has been carried away by running water, creating deep furrows through the sand.

2. gravel-filled drainage ditches.

3. Rocks or boulders on areas mowed to fairway height or lower.

4. anthills.

b) Non-removable manufactured items

1. distance plates in the form of rockers in the center of the fairway

2. stone construction (erected boulders) on hole 8 Parkbanan.

3. Sighting stick at red duty area on hole 18 Parkbana.

4. Game fences

c) Non-removable manufactured items near green

1. relief from the interference of an immovable manufactured object may be taken under Rule 16.1. The player also has these additional options for taking relief when such immovable manufactured objects are near the green and on the line of play: Ball on the field of play. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1 if an immovable manufactured object is on the line of play and is within two club lengths of the green and within two club lengths of the ball.

Exception: No relief if the line of play is manifestly unreasonable.

 

CANCEL THE GAME (Rule 5.7)

An immediate interruption of the game due to a dangerous situation will be signaled by a long siren signal. All other interruptions will be signaled by three consecutive siren signals. In both cases, resumption of play will be signaled by two short siren signals. See Rule 5.7b.

 

MEANS OF TRANSPORT (Rule 4.3)

During a competition round, a player or his caddie may not ride on any form of motorized transport except when approved or subsequently authorized by the Competition Management.

Penalty for breaking the local rule: The player receives the general penalty for each hole on which this local rule is broken. If the violation occurs between the play of two holes, it applies on the next hole.

EXPLANATION OF HOW TO TAKE RELIEF FOR GAME FENCING WHEN THIS IS MANDATORY

NOTE! Game fences are electric around the clock! The duty area behind the fence is a no-play zone.

  • a) If a player's ball is in a no-play zone inside a duty area, the player must take relief with a kind of duty outside the duty area. The last intersection with the duty area is the reference point. Rule 17.1e
  • b) If a player's ball is in a duty area and the no-play zone interferes with the punch or swing, the ball must not be played as it lies and relief must be taken:

b1. in the duty free area using the nearest point of relief as a reference point.

b2. outside the duty area with a kind of duty (as a above). Rule 17.1e

  • c) If a player's ball is outside the red duty area and the no-play zone interferes with the punch or swing, relief must be taken:

c1. without duty using the nearest point of relief as a reference point.

c2. with a kind of duty according to the unplayable ball rule.

Rule 16.1f

Exception: No relief but duty if the ball lies so that a stroke is unreasonable
