Rules and HCP

In order for your round at Öijared Resort to be as pleasant as possible, it is important to be aware of the rules for booking, handicap and play.

Rules of Golf
The basis of the Rules of Golf is revised at regular intervals. The latest, very comprehensive, revision applies from 2019. The new rules include new terms and definitions on what the different areas of the course are called and also several new ways in which the game should be played. The rules also have a new structure. There are now 24 rules compared to 34 previously.

The new rules are described in the following documents:

Rules of Golf. Player's edition. In Swedish in A6 format. Can be purchased at the competition desk. 40 SEK

Rules for the game of golf. In Swedish in A5 format. It is slightly more detailed than the player edition. Can be purchased at the competition expedition. 70 SEK

Official Guide to the Rules of Golf. In English. In-depth comments on the Rules. Instructions for competitions (Committee Procedures). Examples of wording of Local Rules.

App from R&A (Black icon) Swedish can be selected as language. Contains everything from the books above. Can be downloaded for FREE.

The R&A website contains the same as point 4 above. See also the link below.

Handicap
The Swedish Golf Federation requires all clubs to have a committee to review and adjust all members' handicaps, otherwise all members of the club may be excluded from competitions at other courses. The review will be carried out in winter and based on data in GIT.

Marking of our pitches
The marking of our pitches is done before the pitches open in the spring. If necessary, it may be necessary to change some markings even during a playing season. Therefore, it may sometimes be the case that the course guide does not match the actual course marking. In this case, the course guide will be updated for the next season. The course guides are available for download at course.

Local rules
There are local rules that apply throughout the season and temporary rules that apply only occasionally.

Öijared's local rules shall describe what is special for our courses. Our local rules are revised before each season and must be approved by the GGF. They must not conflict with the Rules of Golf.

Öijared's temporary local rules are not decided by the referee committee but by the club's match official. The playing official also has the right to close the entire course for play if he/she cannot protect the course sufficiently by means of a temporary local rule and MUA markings. These rules are posted on the notice board inside the clubhouse and at the first tee. The competition management of an official club competition also has the right to issue temporary local rules, e.g. position improvement and MUA markings, of which they must inform all players.

Rules walk
During the year we plan a number of outdoor rules walks where we go through different game situations with associated applications of the rules. These walks will be announced in the competition calendar on golf.se in the same way as Öijared's competitions. Registration is then done as at competitions.

If any group would like a rules walk or a rules lesson, please contact the Rules and HCP section.

Disability audit
The annual disability audit has been completed.

It is desirable that we register all rounds played as the PCC (Playing Conditions Calculation) is reapplied. In order to be able to influence the PCC calculation, rounds should be registered on the day they are played.

In case of bad and poor weather conditions, our game results will be worse than normal. The PCC then recalculates the results, reducing the number of strokes by 1-3 units, depending on the registrations made. The more players who register their achieved score, the better the weather conditions are reflected and the handicap calculation is affected.

In very favorable conditions, the PCC calculations add max. 1 stroke to the achieved results.

As you can see, it is important to record our rounds played. This way, we all get a fairer game score, which means we're all playing on as level a playing field as possible!

Handicap rounds are all games that include min. 9 holes played according to the rules of golf. This applies to all players now, regardless of hcp. Previous hcp groups are removed.

If a round is interrupted for e.g. darkness, thunder, illness etc., points are added to your score. If you play 9 holes, 17 points are added to your result. If you play 10-13 holes, the same procedure applies, i.e. 1 point is deducted from your ideal score on the remaining, unplayed holes. Or 1 stroke is added to your net pair for play on the remaining holes. If you play 14 holes or more, net par or 2 points/hole are added to your played score.

Info about the hcps system can be found in "My Golf" under "Rules and handicaps".

If you've had a long break from golf, a single revision can be made during the year. Likewise, in the event of a change in physical or medical conditions or any similar problem.

Should you make a mistake when registering your result, this can be deleted and then re-registered. Can be done by the club or hcp manager with access to GIT.

Quick tips for a great round of golf

Return bucket

We are happy if you return your basket to the correct place at the end of your time on the course.

Keep clean

We have bins in several places where it is possible to throw away rubbish. If you find something that others have left behind, please help us to keep it clean.

rake

Thank you for contributing to a more pleasant Öijared by raking the bunker after your shot.

Laying turf

Help us contribute to a better course for you and your fellow players by cooking peat.

Making an appointment

Booking an appointment is important both for us and for you as a player. Appointment booking also applies to play on The Multi-Sport Course.

Let through faster batches

To get the flow of the game, it is a matter of course to let through faster batches. It is preferable to make a so-called floating pass.

Laying down impact

Learn how to repair tee marks. To repair a tee mark in the best possible way, you bring the green from several directions around the mark and flatten it with the putter.
