Beginners' courses Golf
At Öijared Resort we offer beginner courses for children, young people and adults.
Juniors under 15 years
If you are under 15 years old, we recommend that you join the golf club's junior training program. There you train together with children of the same age. Read more about our junior trainings.
Others
For those aged 15 and older, we offer group beginner courses from March through September. If you’d also like to become a member, there are several options available. The PARKBANAN membership can be a great way to start for those who aren’t quite sure if golf is “their thing.” If you choose this or one of our other membership options (excluding green fee memberships), you’ll have the opportunity to participate in our popular mentoring program throughout the season. Our beginner courses consist of a practical component (2×3.5 hours) and a theoretical component (3 hours) and cost 2,095 SEK per person. The price includes video material on the basics, online theory, practical training, and balls during the practical sessions. You will also be able to borrow equipment during these sessions and when you are at Öijared training, for approximately one month following the completion of your course.
The practical courses are administered and conducted by our PGA-certified instructors; see course dates and registration links below. You can choose between the so-called Intensive Course, or split it into two practical sessions. In the latter case, you register for either Session 1 or Session 2. (You should take them in that order.)
The theory portion is taught by our knowledgeable volunteers at the golf club and is offered approximately twice a month during the April–September season. You can find the dates for the theory course and sign up HERE!
We strongly recommend that you try to take the theory course before the practical part.
Theory Course 2026
In addition to passing the practical and written exams, this theory course is mandatory for everyone born in 2013 or earlier before we at Öijared can issue a Green Card. Completing this course is part of our beginner courses.

Pass 1 får ni en introduktion till kursen, introduktion till spel på Multibanan, och vi tränar 3 grundslag: putt, sving med järnklubbor samt chip.
Pass 2 repeterar vi chip o putt samt sving med järn och går vidare med Pitch, Bunker och sving med Metalwoods.

Beginner Course – Intensive 2026
Intensive has the same price and content as the practical courses divided into Pass 1 & 2, but takes place intensively over 2 days; 9-12. 30 both days.
This is suitable for those who may have already played a little, attended a beginner's course before but never got started properly, or for those who want to get started quickly.

Do you want to become a member?
Sponsorship rounds
Together with volunteer mentors and other new golfers in the club, you’ll play 9 holes on one of our courses and learn the game in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. It is also during this round that you’ll take your so-called skills assessment. You can also take it with a private mentor at other times if you already know someone in the club who is an experienced golfer with a handicap of 36 or better.
Green card
Regardless of which course you choose, a lot of self-training is required in addition to the course sessions, in order to become a golfer and take the so-called Green Card.
To obtain a Green Card, you need to pass a theoretical part and a practical part, and be an active member of a golf club. It is the club you are a member of that activates your green card. However, you do not need to be a member of a club to take a beginners' course or start your theory part. It is also mandatory to attend a 3-hour theory course at Öijared for everyone who turns 15 or more this year. You can find alternative dates HERE.
At Öijared Resort, we follow the Swedish Golf Association's recommendations regarding the Green Card, and depending on age, there are different tests to be done regarding theory and practice.
